Miles and Ella met sophomore year in guitar class, where Miles couldn’t read sheet music and relied on Ella to write the notes for him. He thought she was cute, so he made the brave move of sitting next to her at lunch on the hallway floor. He offered her half of his ham sandwich on a hawaiian roll every day until she agreed to go to homecoming with him.
